In Quiet, Please, by Scott Douglas there’s a sweet quote about how one of his (seemingly grumpy) co-workers feels about his job at the library.
Money isn’t everything. I don’t get paid much here, but I get by. And I’m happy. I don’t have stress. I don’t go home worrying about anything. If I do something wrong, it’s no big deal. You can’t complain about a job like this (pg. 120).
Sounds dreamy to me.
