Me and ELMS are going to become Boo-Boos because it helps me stay organized. ELMS stands for Enterprising Learning Management System and from what I can tell, it’s hosted by Blackboard (Bb). UMD uses ELMS to provide an educational interaction between students and professors.
The two classes that I attended last week use ELMS to share documents: syllabi, assignments, readings, etc. It can also be used to send messages and conduct class discussions. One of my professors doesn’t even have a required textbook for the class, and I wonder if part of that reason is because everything he wants us to read is on ELMS.
I can imagine that ELMS saves students money and helps the environment (because of the lack of paper).
