library / special libraries

Hello Shauna Collier

“This position is the dream job,” Collier said in the interview below.

I enjoyed the part about having literary salons and how she said NMAAHCL will function like a public library, but still be a museum and research library.

    • It does sound wonderful. I’m looking forward to when she starts hiring people to work with her, like that assistant librarian position she mentioned.

So what library school/librarian dreams do you have?

      • The Librarianship path that’s most intriguing to me is Archival/Special Collections. The thought of connecting someone to an obscure object and watching it regain a sense of relevance and importance seems really cool to me. Plus I would be learning something new during the process as well. I’d at least like to connect that path to my interests (design, art, textiles, etc…). Who knows! Right now I’m trying to figure out how I would even pay for an MLIS. In the mean time, I’ll just keep up with what everyone else is doing in school :oP
