Sheets & Pages: Three

If you didn’t catch the first installment of Sheets & Pages, click here for the backstory.

This month I read the first story from The Secret Lives of Church Ladies by Deesha Philyaw. It’s a collection of short stories that “explores the raw and tender places where Black women and girls dare to follow their desires and pursue a momentary reprieve from being good.”

While I was reading, I wore the Fermentation Mask Pack by Benton. It’s claims to provide elasticity, a boost in skin barrier function, and fermentation allows for better absorption of active ingredients. It includes three different types of fermented ingredients, glycerin, sodium hyaluronate cerimide NP, and more.

I read “Eula,” a story about two women who are bringing in the new year – 2000 – together. Eula & Caroletta have been friends for most of their lives, but there are somethings they don’t talk about, and somethings they do together, move past being friendly. I’ll stop there so I don’t ruin anything for you. I will say that it certainly made me want to continue reading the next story.

I was so happy the timer went off almost at the same time I finished the story. My skin felt cool when I pulled the mask off. After I finished my night routine, I was a glazed doughnut and my skin wasn’t dry in the morning. 👍🏽👍🏽

Join me again next month for the next Sheets & Pages.
