What did you think of Harlem’s Little Blackbird? I thought the story was lovely but I’m still unsure of the illustrations.
I liked it. What threw you off about the illustrations?
They were so simple. When I first read it, I kept thinking “it’s made out of construction paper”. It fits the story some but still . . .I don’t know.
Did you like Third Girl from the Left? I enjoyed it a lot. Martha Southgate is one of my favorite writers and that story is one that stuck with me.
I did like it a lot actually.
